Blue Jays Trade former #1 catching prospect to Diamondbacks in 3 person trade!!

Toronto Blue Jays trade away Catcher Gabriel Moreno and OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr to the Arizona Diamondbacks for versatile C/OF Dalton Varsho. Moreno made his ML appearance this past season contributing a .319 avg/.356 obp with only 69 plate appearances. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had a decent year last season hitting .291, having 5 HR's and 53 RBIs in 121 games. With Toronto already having a stellar backstop with breakout star Alejandro Kirk earning a Silver Slugger and All Star appearance in 2022 with a 3.9 WAR, .285 AVG and 14 HRs. With adding a lefty Varsho to this lineup will be a great addition after posting .235 AVG/.302 OBP but having 27 HRs 74 RBIs and 16 SB in Arizona last season. Varsho will be filling in that spot for Teoscar Hernandez after he was traded earlier this off-season.

Toronto is having a great off-season making a lot of moves to make a harder push to make an impact in the Postseason, after getting bounced by the Seattle Mariners 2-0 last season. Blue Jays have added OF Kevin Keirmaier, and a load of pitchers in: RHP Chris Bassitt, RHP Erik Swanson and LHP Adam Macko (Teoscar Hernandez trade).
